Trademark Guidelines
Bricks is built around an active ecosystem of developers, designers, educators, agencies, and third-party products. We encourage people to create tools, integrations, add-ons, templates, tutorials, and other resources for Bricks.
These guidelines explain how you may use our trademarks while making it clear which products and services are independently developed and which are provided by CODEER LTD.
Our trademarks
BRICKS® is a registered trademark of CODEER LTD in the United States.
Other names, logos, and brand elements associated with Bricks, including Bricks Builder and the Bricks logo, may also be protected by trademark and other applicable laws.
Nothing in these guidelines transfers any ownership rights in our trademarks.
Using “Bricks” to describe compatibility
You may use the Bricks name to accurately describe that your product, service, integration, tutorial, or other resource works with or relates to Bricks.
For example, wording such as the following is generally acceptable:
- “Add-ons for Bricks”
- “Compatible with Bricks”
- “Built for Bricks”
- “Integrates with Bricks”
- “Templates for Bricks”
- “Migration tool for Bricks”
You do not need our prior permission for ordinary, truthful references of this kind, provided your use does not suggest that your product or service is produced, sponsored, certified, or endorsed by CODEER LTD.
Product and service names
Third-party products may use “Bricks” in a descriptive manner to indicate compatibility with Bricks, provided the overall name, branding, and presentation clearly identify the product as independent.
For example, a name such as:
- “Forms for Bricks”
- “XYZ Add-ons for Bricks”
- “XYZ Bricks Integration”
will generally be less likely to cause confusion than a name that appears to describe an official Bricks product.
Names such as the following may be problematic without our permission:
- “Bricks Pro”
- “Bricks Premium”
- “Bricks Cloud”
- “Official Bricks Add-ons”
- “Bricks Builder Pro”
These examples are illustrative only. Whether a particular use is acceptable depends on the overall context and presentation.
Do not imply affiliation or endorsement
Unless you have our written permission, you must not state or imply that:
- your product or company is part of CODEER LTD;
- your product is an official Bricks product;
- CODEER LTD sponsors, certifies, approves, or endorses your product;
- you are an official Bricks partner, reseller, representative, or support provider.
You should clearly distinguish your own company, product, and branding from Bricks.
Logos and visual branding
You may use official Bricks brand assets where reasonably necessary to identify compatibility with Bricks or to refer to Bricks in editorial, educational, or informational content.
You must not:
- use the Bricks logo as your own company or product logo;
- modify the Bricks logo in a way that suggests a new official Bricks product;
- copy our visual branding in a way that could make your website, product, or service appear to be operated by CODEER LTD;
- use Bricks branding more prominently than your own brand where doing so could create confusion.
Domain names and social media
You should not register or use domain names, social media accounts, or other identifiers that are likely to make users believe they are visiting an official Bricks property.
If you use “Bricks” in a domain name or account name for an independent resource, the surrounding branding should clearly identify the operator and avoid suggesting official status.
Recommended trademark notice
If your product name or website prominently uses the Bricks name, we recommend including a notice such as:
Bricks is a registered trademark of CODEER LTD. This product is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by CODEER LTD.
A similar statement may be used where appropriate.
Editorial and educational use
You may use the Bricks name in articles, videos, courses, reviews, tutorials, comparisons, documentation, and other editorial or educational content where necessary to identify Bricks.
For example:
- “How to Build a Website with Bricks”
- “Bricks vs. [Another Product]”
- “Advanced Bricks Tutorial”
- “My Favorite Add-ons for Bricks”
Your use should not suggest that CODEER LTD authored, sponsors, or endorses the content unless that is actually the case.
Fair use
Nothing in these guidelines is intended to restrict uses of our trademarks that are permitted by applicable law, including fair use and nominative fair use.
Existing ecosystem products
These guidelines are intended to provide clarity for the Bricks ecosystem, not to discourage legitimate third-party development.
Existing third-party products and services that use the Bricks name in a clear, descriptive, and non-confusing manner generally do not need to contact us simply because BRICKS is a registered trademark.
We may contact a third party where we believe a particular use creates confusion, falsely suggests affiliation, or otherwise infringes our rights.
Questions and permission requests
If you are unsure whether a particular use of the Bricks name or logo is appropriate, please contact us before using it.
Changes to these guidelines
We may update these Trademark Guidelines from time to time as the Bricks ecosystem and our brand evolve.
